All dance students pay a registration fee to reserve their space in class.
PRESCHOOL
Celtic Movement: Age 2: This 30 minute class focuses on creative movement and moving to different rhythms. Dancers learn to coordinate movements between arms and legs. This soft shoe class is a fun introduction to dance and helps prepare students for a dance class environment.
Tartan Tots: Age 3-4 This 45 minute class focuses on basic steps and movements, rhythm, simple choreography, and musicality. This fun filled class introduces technique for highland and step dance and requires soft and hard shoes.
YOUTH
Beginner Highland: Dancers will learn the foundational movements of traditional Highland dance, including the Highland Fling, the Sword Dance, and the Seann Triubhas. Focus is placed on posture, precision, and rhythm while developing strength and stamina.
Ballet: Dancers will be introduced to the fundamental positions, movements, and techniques of classical ballet. They will develop strength, flexibility, and posture while exploring musicality and expressive movement. This class lays the groundwork for future ballet training through barre work, center exercises, and simple combinations across the floor.
Beginner Step Dance: Dancers will be introduced to the basic steps, rhythms, and musicality of Step Dance. They’ll explore how to create sounds with their feet and begin working those taps into music through fun and engaging patterns.
Tap Dance: This class introduces students to the basics of rhythm, coordination, and footwork through fun, energetic routines. Perfect for young dancers, it emphasizes creativity and builds foundational skills for future tap dancing progress.
Beginner Jazz: This energetic class introduces dancers to the fundamentals of jazz technique, including kicks, turns, jumps, and expressive movement. Dancers will build strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence while exploring musicality through fun combinations and choreography set to a variety of music styles.
Beginner Contemporary: Contemporary dance encourages creativity and self-expression while combining elements of ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Dancers will develop fluid movement, strength, flexibility, and musical interpretation through floor work, improvisation, and expressive choreography that explores storytelling through movement.
ADULT
Beginner Highland: Perfect for those new to dance or returning after a break, this class offers a relaxed, supportive atmosphere to get moving and have fun. Dancers will learn the basics of the Scottish Lilt and Village Maid —maybe even a bit of the Highland Fling—while building confidence and enjoying the joy of movement together.
Advanced Highland: This class is tailored to the dancers attending, with a focus on refining technique, expanding repertoire, and helping each dancer work toward their personal goals in Highland dance.
Beginner Tap: A fun and energetic introduction to tap dance for adults. Dancers will learn basic tap steps, rhythms, and timing while developing coordination and musicality through simple exercises and combinations. No experience is required—just a willingness to make some noise and have fun.
Advance Highland: pbeat introduction to jazz dance for adults. Dancers will learn foundational jazz technique, including posture, turns, kicks, and expressive movement through warm-ups and dynamic combinations. No experience is required—just a willingness to move, groove, and build confidence.
No Experience & Low Impact Step Dance: Designed for beginners, this class introduces the basic rhythms and steps of traditional Step Dance in a relaxed and encouraging environment. Dancers will explore strathspeys and jigs while building coordination and enjoying a shared sense of fun and community.
Competitive Step Dance: This adult competitive step dance class is designed for dancers looking to sharpen their technique and prepare for competitions. Focusing on precision, footwork, and performance, students will refine their skills while learning the discipline and artistry of competitive step dancing.
